Are you a classic car lover in the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia)? Are you tired of looking for upcoming shows on websites that are behind the times, both in style and content? Do you want a site that will cater to your needs and make meaningful content changes as the hobby in the area changes? Well, my friend, you have come to the right place.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Jeff Snyder. I attend many shows throughout the season, both in the area and outside. I've been active in the hobby since 2008, and I have owned numerous classic cars during that time. Here are some of my cars that have been seen at recent shows:
1932 Ford Roadster
1955 Chevy 210
1970 Chevy Camaro RS
While it will take a few months to get all of this accomplished, here are some things that I plan to incorporate into this website:
  • Detailed show information to include:
    • What is the entry fee? Is there a discount for early registration?
    • From your phone or personal computer, the ability to click on a link for a map and/or driving directions to the show
    • Availability of dash plaques
    • Types and quantity of awards
    • Will there be a 50/50?
    • Will there be a silent auction?
    • Are there door prizes?
    • Will there be activities for children?
    • Will food and drinks be available for purchase?
    • Pictures and videos from past shows, if available
    • Link to the show flyer, if available
    • Type of parking surface (i.e. pavement/concrete, grass, or rock)
    • Name and contact information for the show promoter
    • Will there be spaces for vendors?
  • Lists of recommended classic car repair/restoration shops, body shops, tire/wheel installers, etc.
  • Webpage to allow show promoters to enter their show information. The show will not be published until after this information has been reviewed and validated.
  • 24 hours after a show has ended, the show will automatically roll off the list of current shows and will appear on the list of past shows
  • Ability to view all of the information for a past show
  • Keyword search capability for both current and past shows
